Anannya is six years old. She lives with her parents and sister. Her father sells sweets for a living. He is physically handicapped and only earns USD 320 per year. Anannya loves drawing and maths and she wants to be a teacher when she grows up.
SANIKA
Sanika lives in a slum community. Both her parents are farm laborers. Sanika is a very bright child but they cannot afford her school fees. Sanika enjoys reading, her favorite subject is English and she wants to be a teacher when she grows up.
ARADNYA
Aradnya lives with her parents and two siblings. Her father is a farm laborer and he cannot afford her school fees. They live in a humble slum home. Her favorite subject is maths and she loves drawing.
RAUNAK
Raunak lives with his parents and two siblings. He is articulate and really keen to learn. He loves drawing and wants to be a doctor. His father works in a shop and earns about USD 1 per day or about USD 300 per year. His mother runs the home.
JANHAVI
Janhavi loves learning, she is very clever and likes reading and writing. She lives in a very humble home with her parents and younger brother. Her parents are very keen for their daughter to get a good education and they want her to learn English but cannot afford the school fees. They are both farm laborers.

Smit lives with his mother and grandfather. His father passed away four years ago and the family relies on the grandfather to sustain the family. Smit is very poised and hard working. He loves learning and science in particular. He wants to be an accountant when he grows up.
SARTHAK
Sarthak lives in a humble and fragile slum home with his parents and brother. He is a happy, smily kid who loves reading, maths and cricket. He wants to be an engineer when he grows up. Unfortunately his parents, who are farm laborers only earn about USD 300 per year and cannot afford the school fees.
NIKHIL
Nikhil is a happy, bright young teenager. He enjoys reading and his favorite subject is English and he wants to be an engineer. His hobby is playing cricket. He lives at home with his parents and brother. His father is a farm laborer and his mother looks after the family at home.
BHAVANA
Bhavana is five years old. She is a bright child who wants to learn. She loves drawing and English. Unfortunately her father has passed away and Bhavana lives with her mother and a family guardian. Her mother earns about USD 300 per year and is unable to afford Bhavan’s school fees.
RUDRA
Rudra is eight years old. He lives at home with his parents, two siblings and his grandfather in a small, basic home. He loves drawing and wants to be a policeman when he grows up. His father is a farm laborer.
KHUSHI
Khushi is eight years old. She lives at home with her parents and baby brother. Her father is a laborer in the nearby forests and his mother looks after his brother and works in the forest as well when she has the time. Khushi loves drawing and learning English and she wants to be a doctor when she grows up.

Atharv lives in a simple home with his parents and brother. His parents are farm laborers and
look after 1.25 acres of land. The income of about USD 300 per year is insufficient to pay for
Atharv to go to a good school. Atharv enjoys drawing and maths and wants to be a policeman

Aaradya is eight years old. She lives at home with her parents, two sisters and two grandparents. The home is humble, cramped and located right next to a busy road. Her father is a farmer on a one acre plot of land. Aaradya is a bright girl who enjoys maths and drawing.
TANUJA
Tanuja is seven years old. She lives with her parents and her sibling in a humble slum dwelling. Her parents are day labourers who work on farms and the nearby forest and earn about USD 1 per day between them. The fees for a good school are unaffordable for the family. Taniya loves learning English and maths and wants to be a teacher when she grows up.
RADHIKA
Radhika is seven years old. She is a very smart girl whose favorite subject is maths and she wants to be a policewoman. She lives with her parents and brother in a simple home. Her parents are labourers and earn about USD 350 per year, which isn’t enough to pay for tuition fees to a good school where Radhika would excel.
VEDIKA
Vedika is seven years old. She lives with her parents, grandmother and sister in a poor community. Vedika loves writing and would love to be a doctor when she grows up. Her parents are farm laborers and don’t have the resources to pay for her to go to a good school where her talents can be realized.
UNNATI
Unnati is six years old. She loves drawing and numbers. She lives with her parents, sister and grandmother. Her father is an auto- rickshaw driver which he is paying for on instalment from the bank and his mother is a day laborer on ½ an acre of farm land. They cannot afford to send Dinesh to a good school.
RIDDHI
Riddhi is 10 years old. Her favorite subject is English and she wants to be an engineer. She loves singing. She lives with her parents, sister and uncle in a small, humble house. Riddhi is very active, smart and articulate but her parents are laborers and they cannot afford the school fees.
MANTASHA
Mantasha is aged 10. She lives in a slum community with five other family members. Her father is an auto-rickshaw driver. She loves dancing and her favorite subject is English.
SHAHID
Shahid is twelve years old. He lives with his mother and three siblings. His mother is bringing up her family alone. Shahid is a bright boy. He enjoys playing chess and his favorite subject is maths even though he has had no proper education opportunities before.
SARIFUN
Sarifun is twelve years old. His family of five live in a slum community in Kolkata in a 100 square foot home. His father is a painter. Sarifun loves drawing and maths.
AYYAN
Ayyan is nine years old. He enjoys dancing and maths. His father is a leather worker. The family of eight live in a 140 square foot slum dwelling.
KAJAL
Kajal is twelve years old. Her father is a plumber. The family, father, step mother and five siblings live in a tiny 95 square foot home. Kajal loves drawing and her favorite subject is English.
RAKSHITA
Rakshita is ten years old. She lives with her father, mother, two sisters and brother in a 70 square foot slum home. Her father is a mason. Rakshita loves to dance and her favorite subject is learning Marathi.
DIVYA
Divya is eleven years old. She loves drawing and reading. Divya lives with her family of nine – mother, father and seven siblings, all girls, in a tiny 100 square foot slum dwelling.
